Anomy

What is Anomy? The state of anomy is much the same as smelling some smoke and after which makes you confused and lost. The real definition of it is: "A state or condition of individuals or society characterized by a breakdown or absence of social norms and values." This concept has emerged in 1893 with French sociologist Ă‰mile Durkheim. According to him, some people might experience Anomy, especially there's a sudden change in their circumstances. One good example will be the Japanese soldiers after world war 2 where their economy started to pick up after they went back to their homeland after the war. Besides this example, another example could be for the modern world people; as the digital economy started to pick up and transform thousands and millions of lives, those who are not technology savvy might choose to give up learning new things and shows an emotion of apathy. A minority of those might experienced anger and frustration too. Below is a video of

Yori White

Recently I just received an email that I was rejected by Google for my Adsense upgrade request. For those who don't understand what it is, let me explain. Remember what I shared about monetizing from your blog in my previous post? Basically, what I'm trying to do here is to put some advertisement in my blog through Google Adsense. Google usually won't accept advertisements in a non-hosted site. However, yoriwhite.com is a hosted site.

So one of the main reasons for rejection given by Google are:
Firstly, my site does not comply with the Google Adsense program policies or following their webmaster quality guidelines. They believe currently my site does not provide rich and meaningful content or receiving organic traffic (maybe my site is too young as it was born on 20th September 2016. Not even a month old?)

Having said that, Google did provide me some guidance as follows:
  • As a blogger or rather publisher, you must give unique and relevant content that gives visitors a reason to come to your website.
  • Do not place ads on auto-generated pages or pages with no content.
  • A website needs to offer users a good user experience through a clear navigation and be well-organised. Whatever information a user needs on your website, they should be able to find it easily.
However, going through my website objectively this time round. I do admit that I had placed the ad code given to me on some of the pages with not much content (agreed and will correct my mistake). I don't quite agree that I do not provide users unique or relevant content because all the contents in my blog are self-experienced and I shared what I went through from a person with zero IT background to own a hosted website (Disagreed, so all the contents will remain as it was). Lastly, with regards to a website with clear navigation and be well-organised I might need to gather some feedbacks or research to improve on my website.
